Dog sitter

I am dog-sitting for a couple of weeks. So, Howie had a canine companion (Cora) for our short hike today. We parked at the trailhead on Route 2 at the NY/MA border and headed north on the Taconic Crest Trail. We went all the way to the snow hole - a crevice in the ground that often holds snow into the summer. It obviously had snow today. The trail was packed powdery snow, so I didn't bother to use my snowshoes. Both dogs had a good time, and are now dog tired.

Tid bits

Howie and I did a short hike today in Tibbits State Forest. We started at a trailhead on Route 7 just west of Route 22, and did a clockwise loop around the perimeter of state land. Most of the trails are old carriage roads. There was only a couple inches of snow on the ground. It was cold, but not that bad ... especially when the sun was out. I tried to experiment with my photography skillz.
