Right under your nose

We had another nice sunny Saturday afternoon. I did a short hike with Howie up Vroman's Nose near Middleburgh. The snow on the trail was well packed down and a little icy in spots. I wore stabilicers on my boots for better grip.

January Thaw

Had a nice break today from the usual frigid cold weather. Went out and did a short hike in the Catskills with Howie ... climing Overlook mountain. A nice easy walk up the road. The powdery snow was packed down to sidewalk-like conditions. The warm sun felt nice as I made my way up. Great views from the top on this crystal clear day. Howie got to meet many dogs as there were lots of other hikers out. Now back to our regularly scheduled winter.
